What is TYPE 2 Diabetes Surgery (Metabolic Surgery) ?

Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes that usually occurs after the age of 40. One of the major causes of type 2 diabetes is excess weight. 80% of patients who have diabetes surgery get rid of their excess weight and overcome diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes patients produce insulin unlike Type 1 diabetes patients, but they cannot use the insulin they produce for many reasons. This causes patients to have high blood sugar levels. High blood sugar can cause many serious health problems, especially cardiovascular diseases.

Type 2 Diabetes Surgery deals with this disease. It is a more effective treatment alternative than conventional treatment methods. After the surgery, the oral antidiabetic drugs used by the patients are discontinued within the first 3 days, and the insulin injection is left within approximately 3 months depending on the patient's weight, hormone and sugar level.

Since all Obesity and Metabolic Surgery operations are performed with closed method, the recovery process of the patients is much faster.
